Peter Ippolito studied architecture in Stuttgart and Chicago. During this time, he worked as an assistant to Prof. Ben Nicholson (Chicago) and gained practical experience at Studio Daniel Libeskind (Berlin). In 2002, Peter Ippolito founded the Ippolito Fleitz Group together with Gunter Fleitz. In 2015, Peter Ippolito and Gunter Fleitz were the first German designers from the field of interior design to be inducted into the Interior Design Hall of Fame. In addition to his design work, Peter Ippolito has been active in teaching on several occasions and is often requested as a speaker or member of competition juries. Peter Ippolito is a member of the German Designer Club.
